Review of Guest Lecture
Dated on 15th November 2022, we the students of PGDE, Kathmandu University were presented a guest lecture session by Principal of Ullens School Mr. Medin Lamichhane through which we got to know about so many things that's happening in his school as well as some guidelines that other school have to follow in creating a better teaching learning environment.
Here are some of my major takeaways from the session.
1. Moving to different directions with curriculum based teaching as it keeps students up with the changing world and opens the door for collaboration.
2. Regular teacher development program for better learning outcomes, through regular TDP, educators can learn better way to teach and have better planning skills and the classroom can be more productive, efficient and effective.
3. Short term, mid term and long term strategic planning to increase operational efficiency and having some sense of direction.
4. Child centered learning environment where children take the responsibility for making various choices about what they will learn.
5. Faculties development so as to promote motivation and encouraging professional development.
6. Diversity of students in the classroom so as to boost up the collaborative learning.
7. Open end questions that will help children to increase creative thinking and learn the ideas that can be best suit in real life learning.
8. Concept of every child is unique, so no any comparison amongst the students with their grades and ranks.
9. Students outreach program that can help them in different learning environment with real life examples.
10. Parenting awareness and flexible environment for them in order to secure child holistic development.
